My mother always taught me that you never have to have a bad hair day. So around this time of the year my signature hat is "The Beret". This hat looks good on everybody and you can wear it with a causal outfit like jeans and a sweater or with a classy dress like Mary J. It's a simple accessory that gives a chic look.
Okay ladies I don't know about you, but this cold weather is making my hair really dry, so anytime I notice that my hair lacks moisture and feels a little brittle I know that means I need to get back to my weekly deep conditions.
One of my favorite deep conditioners is Elasta QP DPR11. It's inexpensive (under $6.00) and you can find it at your local beauty supply store. It has 11 conditioning botanicals that include Peach Blossom oil and vitamin e and it's perfect for all hair types. When you get ready to condition your hair just follow these few steps. (scoop out a few spoons full and put in a bowl)
1. Add a little honey because it's an "natural" humectant and it draws moisture to your hair
2. Add a little olive oil because it's loaded when vitamins and it's great for replenishing oil back to your hair
3. Make sure you cover your hair from root to tip.
4. Sit under a hooded dryer for at least 30 minutes with a plastic cap
5. Rinse with cool water to close the cuticle, this will make the hair smooth and shiny
6. Continue with your regmine (leave-in conditioner, hair oil, rollersets etc.)
Many of us have naturally dry hair and the weather doesn't help. You will be amazed at how the condition of your hair will improve with weekly deep conditions.
